Pirates of the South China Coast
The Pirates of the South China Coast, known in Traditional Chinese as 華南海盜 and in Simplified Chinese as 华南海盗 and in Pinyin as huá nán hǎi dào were the prolific pirates that preyed upon colonial shipping in the South China Sea between 1790 and 1810. Duirng this time the Chinese pirates became the most powerful and profitable on the entire planet, with many of sailors being trained by the Tay Son Dynasty of Vietnam.'
These pirates struck a mighty blow against colonial shipping in the region and were so powerful they were given full pardons for their crimes.
