Background

Alexander Bras de Fer (?? - ??), also known as Alexander of the Iron Arm was a famous 17th century buccaneer. He did not associate with the other buccaneer captains of the era and was famous for always calling his ship the Phoenix. It is known his crew was always around a hundred men who were all selected based on qualities such as courage, endurance, politeness and military skill. Alexander Bras de Fer was one of the first captains to institute a martial like pirate code and his ship was said to be as spotless as a modern one in terms of cleanliness.
